Soni has previously served as vice-chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University and The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
The Enforcement Directorate has accused an IAS officer Anil Tuteja of being the mastermind of the illegal liquor syndicate in the state of Chhattisgarh and alleged that from 2019 to 2022, unaccounted illicit liquor made up 30-40% of total liquor sales in the state.
